If You Teach a Child To Fish...

The next generation of Vallett (or in this case Wallace) Fisherman is born! My Dad and Uncle Joel took Gavin up American Fork canyon for an awesome fishing trip.

Gav followed all the "rules." He stayed on the path, stayed out of the water and stayed with Uncle Joel and Papa. We should have added one more rule: Don't throw rocks in the water.

The fishing was great...the catching, on the other hand, was not so good. Joel snagged one monster five-incher as they were cleaning up their gear.

Gav is thrilled that we will probably go fishing again this weekend.

How fun that day must have been for Gavin. He looked so cute sitting on a rock with his fishing pole. The fish might have been small, but the memories of that day will always be remembered. A memory not just by Gavin, but for a special Grandpa Vallett and Uncle Joel.

Eva has asked me about 3 times when she can go back to Gavin's house. We will have to take Gavin fishing at the dock in my 'hood. We catch all the time. They are baby fish so you just catch and then throw them back.

He looks so cute and patient sitting there on the rock. It was funny to have him come home and be bummed that they got skunked. He will have to go again so he knows what it is like to actually catch a fish.
