Blue Bonnets, Benadryl and Basket (cases)

We made our annual trek out to Brenham to take pictures in the beautiful Texas wildflowers. I would NOT say it was our best trip...in fact, it was a borderline disaster. Gavin has had terrible allergies, and we loaded him up with Benadryl before we left. Most kids would be sleepy--Gavin acted like he was on speed. And he isn't slow to start with! I would say that the high point of the trip (both figuratively and literally) was when Jamie and Gavin beat their height record for throws. The pictures aren't nearly as scary as it is in real life! Hopefully next year will be better. Not the tosses, the pictures!

And your next American Idol is...

Gavin loves to watch American Idol. He sings and shakes his money maker! It is hysterical! This week he added his own microphone. Don't worry, I washed the spatula when he was through using it.

Laynie Longstockings

Have you ever seen chubbier cheeks? Delicious to nibble on!

Blessed Event

We blessed Laynie on Sunday, March 23 (the LDS version of Christening). It was a beautiful Easter day, and Jamie did a wonderful job. Didn't she look pretty in her dress? I love her little smile in the first picture.

Chr-Easter

Which holiday were we celebrating? If you ask me, it looks more like Christmas than Easter! Gavin is so SPOILED!

Eager for Easter

Look Mom! I'm keeping up our family traditions! So what if dye got all over the counter and Gavin used the wax crayon to color his shirt? We had so much fun!

Football Fanatics

Once football season ends a mild depression settles over our home. To fill the gap between seasons Jamie and Gavin have started "training." So far no one has been injured. (Legal Disclaimer: Do Not Try This At Home!)

Wrangling

So Looli and I decided to become "real" Texans this week. We took our kids to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It SEEMED like a really good idea, and that by going we would be awesome moms! However, we didn't realize that it the last two days of the Show and that it was Spring Break. The crowds were insane...but we made our kids happy. We only had a few moments of fits (Gavin didn't want to get back in the stroller once we let him out to eat lunch). But it was a fairly good experience, the kids loved the animals and we can chalk it up to experience. Right?

Spit Happens

I had a great idea to update my blog with some cute pictures of Laynie all dressed in pink to celebrate her one-month birthday. Instead, here's a quick dose of reality. As soon as a I laid Laynie down and got her posed, she started spitting up everywhere! For those of you who aren't familiar with my children, this is a common occurrence. We go through three or four burp cloths and at least two outfits every day. That's alright...even covered in puke my kids are beautiful!

Mommy, come find me!

Gavin has started playing a new game. He hides somewhere and then yells, "Mommy, come find me!" Here's where I found him last night...

Brotherly Love

Gavin still isn't sick of Laynie! Now he asks to hold her in the boppy.

Denim Duo

Today was the first time Laynie wore jeans! Super cute! And she is starting to love her lovie! Everyone loves the super soft pinky lamb...especially Gavin. Sometimes we have to steal it from him and hide it.

Almost Four Weeks Old

Boy does time fly! My baby is almost a month old. I snapped some shots of Laynie while she was awake this morning. She did not appreciate the flash! And of course, once the camera was out the other monkey had to pose too! So cute!

Headgear

My kids love hats! But Gavin hasn't had a new one for a while, so he borrowed one of Laynie's. He sure makes me laugh.

I have a neary identical picture of Gavin asleep in a little blue hoodie. My kids really are a lot alike!

Sleeping Like a Baby

My husband is famous for coming home from work and taking a nap. I guess that is where our daughter has gotten her sleep-through-the-day habits.

A Week Late

I had a really cute message ready to post a week ago, but as I hit the "publish now" button it disappeared. Here is the picture nonetheless...
