Nitpicking

And I thought monkeys were the only creatures who groomed their family members!

Tub of Fun!

I found some really fun finger paints at Walmart yesterday. They are actually just colored soap! Gavin had a blast playing with them this morning. And the best part is that they wash off completely (tile grout included) with just a little warm water. They are the Sesame Street brand paints, if anyone is interested!

Super Delicious!

So here is our first attempt at feeding Laynie rice cereal. And it will probably be the last attempt for a while. She spit out 90 percent of what I got in her mouth.

Good Morning Sunshine!

What do you do when your kids wake up at 6 a.m.? You dress them is swimming suits they can't wear outside, just so you can take a picture. Come on! Tell me that isn't cute!! However, I know someday it's going to come back and haunt me. When Laynie's 15 she's going to say, "But Mom, you let me wear a bikini when I was a baby..."

Then you create art projects to keep them busy. (BTW: That's another picture of Papa Dave. Apparently Papa Dave's face is blue). Meanwhile I'm dressing Laynie in real clothes...

Then you feed them the baby gym. Laynie seems to think it tastes good, and no matter what I do she pulls the bars down and sucks on them. It's a little bit gross. But she's happy, so I guess it's okay. It kept her busy long enough that I actually got to shower without interruption. For those of you without kids, you have no idea what a privilege that is!

What's happening today?

Laynie is four months old,

Gavin thinks he's a thug,

and I cleaned out my diaper bag. There were literally six binkis, three different types of sunblock, seven diapers (two different sizes), two bags of goldfish crackers, two half-eaten bags of fruit snacks, three burp cloths and bibs, one pink blanky and three hair bows...not to mention a half-dozen unidentifiable food items (SICK!!!). Emptying it out almost filled up my entire kitchen island. Jamie refers to my diaper bag as The Abyss. Seems like a pretty fitting nickname, eh?

The Family that Plays Together...

...stays together! I asked Gav to play with Laynie while I got ready this morning. He was following my directions...in his own way. He kept telling me Laynie was his mountain and the tractor had to drive over her.

It didn't seem to bother her too much.

This set-up worked much better.

They were really playing together. So cute!

He's a Maniac!

Gavin is performing his hybrid interpretation of Riverdance and Ring-Around-the-Rosie. I think the Julliard School of Performing Arts will be knocking down our door in a few short years...to Jamie's utter chagrin.

Two Little Piggies

Obviously this title is focusing on Laynie's hair. There is no way Gavin could be considered a "piggy." One bit of good news though, he is almost big enough for a booster car seat. As of yesterday, he weighed 29.4 pounds! He's got to keep growing though. Laynie's gaining a half-pound a week! She's already up to 13 pounds!

Piggies look only a little better after a visit from the sponge curlers...
